Cookies and storage
The short version: this build sets no cookies of its own. The only thing it can store on your device is a single "notice dismissed" flag, and only if you press OK on the storage notice — plus any file you deliberately download.
1. Inventory in the default build
| Mechanism | Used? | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Cookies (first-party) | No | No script or header in this build sets a cookie. |
| Cookies (third-party) | No | No third-party scripts, pixels or embeds are loaded. |
| localStorage | Only if you choose | One key, wsc-notice-dismissed, with the value 1, written only when you press "OK, hide this notice" on the storage notice. It keeps the notice hidden on this device and is never read by a server. |
| sessionStorage | No | Filter and draft state is kept in page memory only. |
| Analytics or advertising | No | No vendor is installed; no fictitious vendor list is provided. |
| Files you download | Only on request | CSV or .txt files are created when you press a download button and saved where your browser chooses. |
2. In-memory selections
Filter choices on the archive page and text in the contact draft exist only while the page is open. Reloading or leaving the page clears them. No preference other than the notice flag described below is remembered between visits.
3. Hosting-related mechanisms
A hosting provider or content-delivery service might set technical cookies or keep server logs for security, load balancing or abuse prevention. Whether that happens depends on the provider chosen by the operator, not on these files. The privacy page records this as an item to confirm before launch.
4. The storage notice
On a first visit a small panel titled "Cookies and storage" appears in the corner of the page. It is an information notice, not a consent gate: because no non-essential cookies or trackers are set, there is nothing to accept or reject, and a banner asking you to "accept all" would be cosmetic and misleading.
The notice offers two buttons. OK, hide this notice writes the single localStorage flag listed in the inventory so the panel does not reappear on this device. Keep showing closes the panel for the current page view only; nothing is written, and the panel returns on the next page you open. Either way, nothing is sent anywhere.
To remove the flag, clear site data for wimblystorycrates.lifestyle in your browser settings; the notice will then appear again. If your browser blocks storage entirely, the OK button still closes the panel for that page view and the site continues to work normally.
5. If tools are added later
If the operator ever adds analytics, embedded media or other non-essential tools, the site must first replace the information notice with a consent control that prevents those tools from loading until a choice is made, offers reject and manage actions that are as easy as accept, and lists the exact tools in use. This page would then be rewritten to match that inventory.
